Crop and fade an audio file
Open a track, select the part you want on the waveform and use Crop. Add Fade In or Fade Out to shape its beginning or ending. Compare RAW and EDITED audio before saving a separate version for your next session.

Normalize and clean up a folder
Load a folder to apply repeated processing across multiple audio files. Use the available Normalize, Balance, Trim Silence and fade operations, listen to the results and export with Save All As.
Batch processing reduces repetitive work when preparing a library. Normalization changes level; it does not guarantee every track will sound equally loud. Read the batch audio processing guide.

What is Quick Audio Edit?
Quick Audio Edit, or QAE, is a standalone desktop audio editor by NoirSonance. It combines waveform editing for individual files with batch processing for folders. Use it for quick audio editing jobs such as cropping, fades, normalization, channel balance and trimming silence.
Does it work on Windows and Mac?
Yes. Full and Demo downloads are available for Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon and macOS Intel. Choose the Demo for your platform below. One purchase includes the three Full platform downloads.
Can I try Quick Audio Edit for free?
Yes. The free Demo is delivered through email checkout. Choose your platform to try the workflow before buying the Full version. The Demo and Full products are separate downloads.
How do I crop audio and add fades?
Open a supported audio file, select the part on the waveform and choose Crop to keep that selection. Use Fade In, Fade Out or Auto Fade where needed. Compare RAW and EDITED playback before exporting. See the crop and fade guide for a practical workflow.
Can I normalize multiple audio files at once?
Yes. Load a folder and use the batch-processing controls to apply Normalize and other supported operations across files. Check the result before saving. Use Save All As to keep the source files and write processed versions separately. Normalizing levels is different from matching perceived loudness between recordings.
Which audio formats are supported?
QAE supports WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG and OPUS input. The current export workflow uses WAV, including batch Save All and Save All As. If you need another final format, plan a separate conversion step. M4A input is not advertised as supported.
Do I need a DAW, an account or an internet connection?
No DAW is required: QAE is a self-contained standalone application. Audio editing works offline, with no application account or telemetry. Internet access is needed to obtain your download through the store.
Is Quick Audio Edit a subscription?

Will it replace my original files?
Use Save As or batch Save All As to export separate files and keep your originals. Pay attention to the destination and filename when saving. See the batch processing guide before running a large folder.
