Installation Help

Some Windows and macOS systems may display a security prompt when installing or first opening NoirSonance software. NoirSonance distributes these downloads directly, and some current builds may not yet carry the signing or notarization reputation expected by every device. A prompt does not by itself mean that the software is malicious.

Only continue when the product name and download source match what you expected from noirsonance.com. Never disable antivirus, Microsoft Defender, Gatekeeper or other system-wide security protections.

Windows installation

  1. Download the installer through your NoirSonance order or download page.
  2. Open the downloaded installer. Windows may show a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prompt because the file has not yet built signing reputation on your device.
  3. Use the option that reveals additional information and check that the application name matches the NoirSonance product you downloaded.
  4. If Windows offers a per-application option such as Run anyway and you intend to install that file, select it to continue.

Exact wording can vary between Windows versions. Do not approve an unexpected filename or a download obtained from another website.

macOS installation

  1. Download and open the NoirSonance macOS package.
  2. If macOS blocks the first opening, close the prompt and open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Find the message for the NoirSonance package you just attempted to open. If the product and filename match, use the per-application approval option provided by macOS, commonly labelled Open Anyway.
  4. Confirm the action if macOS asks again, then continue with the normal installer.

The location and wording of these controls may differ by macOS version. This process allows one selected application; it does not require disabling Gatekeeper globally or using Terminal commands.
